NWS Issues High Wind Warning & Freeze Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the Santa Barbara County south coast from Jalama Beach to Carpinteria effective Tuesday, February 14 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wind speeds of 25-40 mph with 60 mph gusts are expected. Damaging winds could blow down large objects such as trees and outdoor furniture. Unplanned power outages are possible. Take caution when outdoors and when driving. Avoid hazardous activities that may cause sparks or start a wildfire.

Additionally, a Freeze Watch is in effect for Santa Barbara County from Santa Maria to Carpinteria from Tuesday night, February 14, until Wednesday morning, February 15. Freedom Warming Centers will be open February 14, at 6 p.m. until February 15, at 6 a.m. for those seeking refuge from the cold.  Locations in Santa Barbara County include:
