The City accepts ADU plan sets for preapproval, which are then made available on this page and can be used by homeowners. “Preapproval” means that many of the steps of the permitting process have already been completed. Those interested in building an ADU using a preapproved plan set will need to supplement the plan set with site-specific information to obtain a coastal development permit and building permit.
