Help Keep Our Beaches Beautiful

Beach Cleanup Stations

The City of Carpinteria has partnered with local nonprofit, Carpinteria Beautiful and Relic Coastal Collaborative to provide beach cleanup stations as a resource to protect the environment and make the beach a clean, safe space for all to enjoy.

The beach cleanup station encourages community members and visitors to participate in environmental stewardship during leisurely activities at Carpinteria City Beach. Inspired by the DMVA Shoresaver Program, the stations are located near the lifeguard towers and each station is equipped with six reusable baskets for beachgoers to use during their visit.

The process is simple:

  1. Grab a basket on your way in
  2. Collect any litter you see
  3. Empty the contents in a trash bin when you leave
  4. Return the basket to the post!

The Carpinteria City Beach station was launched in Spring 2026. Thank you, Carpinteria Beautiful for spearheading this initiative!
