Library Board proclaims September as Library Card Sign-Up Month, honors Viviana Morales

The Carpinteria Community Library Board of Trustees met on Sept. 11 and proclaimed September as Library Card Sign-Up Month and recognized Viviana Morales for serving on the Library Advisory Commission from July of 2022 to August of 2023. Morales, pictured at center in white top, was given a certificate of appreciation and honored by the Board of Trustees at the meeting. The Library Card Sign-Up Month draws attention to the value of a library card and the role of libraries as welcoming and inclusive spaces that provide a variety of books and resources to serve everyone in the community. As stated in the proclamation, “A library card empowers all people to explore new passions and interests.”
