The City Council will hold a District Elections Pre-Map Hearing during its regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Carpinteria City Council Chamber, City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave. The meeting is part of the process to shift the City of Carpinteria to electing City Council representatives from five districts. Input from community members is integral to the process of mapping these five districts. At the Dec. 13 hearing, the Council will receive a second presentation on the principles of districting; the opportunity for pre-map public input on communities of interest; presentation from the public of any maps identifying communities, discussion of preferences of neighborhoods, geographic or other features that should be considered in the drawing of public plans.
