Carpinteria kids will soon enjoy a new playground at Heath Ranch Park. Removal of the existing play equipment is now underway, and construction of the new playground will take place over the next few weeks. The new play structure will be located to northwest of the existing structure (where Tiffany Smith is standing in the second photo here) to distance it from the century-old eucalyptus trees on the historic property. The area designated for the existing playground will be converted into a native plant garden. During playground construction, the play area will be closed. The Parks & Rec Department is looking forward to opening the new facility for safe and healthy play. Thank you for your patience throughout the construction process.
