City Council to Consider Lifeguard Pay Increase

At a special meeting scheduled for Monday, June 6, the Carpinteria City Council will consider a pay increase for part-time, temporary, and seasonal hourly-rated employees, which includes pool and beach lifeguards. The pay increase should allow the City to compete with other agencies who hire for similar positions ahead of the summer season. Hourly pay for Junior Lifeguard instructors would increase from $15.91 to $20.10.

The June 6 City Council meeting begins at 4 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave. or view the meeting live at www.carpinteria.ca.us, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar. Additional details and numerous ways for the public to provide comments will be available through the meeting agenda at https://bit.ly/3PYLiHE. Comments posted on social media will not be provided to council members.
