A reception in recognition of the students and families participating in the Carp Connect Summer Wellness Program for Teens will be held on Tuesday, July 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the patio behind Carpinteria Community Library (entrance on Walnut Avenue). Piloted this summer, the Carp Connect program has provided enrichment classes and counseling services for local teens.
The reception on July 26 is a joint venture of the City of Carpinteria, a primary funder of the summer program for teens; the Carpinteria Community Library, which will display books on subjects taught during the summer program; and Carp Connect, the program organizer. Students in the cooking class will prepare tasty treats for the event. The public is invited. Please RSVP by July 24 to firstname.lastname@example.org or (805) 689-9640 with the number of attendees. Additional teen classes, including drama and podcasting, will be offered during the fall. For more information, email email@example.com.
