You are invited to join the City of Carpinteria in smashing your way to reducing, reusing and recycling. Instead of trashing your pumpkin after Halloween, come out to the Community Garden on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon for our second annual Pumpkin Smash Event, where you can transform jack o’lanterns into compost or animal feed for a local farm. Please be sure to remove candles and any decorations from your pumpkin. No pumpkins? No problem! The City will have donated pumpkins available.
