The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Excessive Heat Warnings and a Fire Weather Watch for parts of Santa Barbara County for July 2-8. Temperatures are expected to be high throughout the County, with Cuyama, Santa Ynez Valley and interior mountain areas forecast to exceed 100 degrees!
Beat the heat by staying indoors, staying hydrated and avoiding strenuous activities. Locally, the Carpinteria Community Library at 5141 Carpinteria Ave. welcomes anyone seeking relief from the heat. Additionally, the County of Santa Barbara has compiled a list of cooling centers that will be updated on www.ReadySBC.org. Detailed weather forecasts are available at https://www.weather.gov/lox/.
