Mural to Move to More Visible Location

Artist John Wullbrandt’s well loved mural celebrating Carpinteria agriculture will soon be moved from its present location to the east wall of the Chrisman California Islands Center, formerly the Bank of America building. The paneled art piece will be removed from public view for a short time while the building undergoes exterior renovations, then it will be placed on the highly visible corner of Linden and Carpinteria avenues. The mural, a Carpinteria Beautiful project, will be moved with the support of the Santa Cruz Island Foundation, whose Chrisman California Islands Center is expected to open in 2023. While the building is being renovated, the mural will be given some needed care and additional waterproofing.
