JG and swim lesson registration opens tonight, May 30

With summer staffing in place, the City of Carpinteria is prepared to open registration at 6 p.m. tonight, May 30, for its summer Junior Lifeguards Program and swim lessons at the Carpinteria Community Pool. Parents/guardians are encouraged to register their children at https://carpinteriaca.gov/parks-and-recreation/junior-lifeguards/, though staff will also be available at the pool to help with registration between 6 and 7 p.m. tonight. Those who register online or in person with a card will be charged a 3.25% debit/credit card processing fee. The City’s aquatics team expects to have ample space for interested registrants, though signing up promptly is encouraged in case the program or specific age groups reach capacity.

The 2023 Junior Lifeguards program will take place June 19 through Aug. 4 at Carpinteria City Beach. Throughout the program, kids ages 7 to 16 will participate in fun activities aimed at building fitness, beach safety, and appreciation of the marine ecosystem. The cost of the seven-week program is $575, and the schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
