This year marks the 160th anniversary of Girls Inc., the nation’s longest-running girls leadership program! Founded in 1864 to support young women after the Civil War, Girls Inc. has grown into a powerful force, advocating for over 100,000 girls across North America.
Locally, Girls Inc. of Carpinteria plays a vital role equipping girls with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become strong, smart and bold leaders. Studies show Girls Inc. girls demonstrate positive changes in health, academic success and character development. They boast higher attendance rates and math scores, and advocate for crucial issues like mental health and equal opportunities.
