Emergency debris removal underway along Carpinteria Creek 

Caltrans is currently conducting emergency debris removal work in the Carpinteria Creek area under Highway 101. The state permitted operation will reduce debris deposited in the winter storms and allow for increased flow capacity in future rain events. The bike path between Via Real and Carpinteria Avenue is expected to remain open, but could close temporarily if necessary for work. Caltrans anticipates that the debris removal will be completed by the end of next week.
