Council to meet Oct. 27

The Carpinteria City Council will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave., or view the meeting live at https://carpinteriaca.gov/, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar.

Introduction of New Employees: Tatiana Suriel, Environmental Program Specialist and Ruth Zamora, Administrative Office Professional II with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department

  • A Proclamation Recognizing October as “Promotoras Month” in the City of Carpinteria.
  • A Proclamation Recognizing and Celebrating the 39th Anniversary of the California Avocado Festival.
  • Presentation by a representative(s) of Chevron U.S.A., Inc., about the Carpinteria Oil and Gas Facility Decommissioning.
  • Authorize the purchase of 35 standardized trash receptacles from Forms+Surfaces in an amount not-to-exceed $84,865.24
  • Appointments to the Central Coast Community Energy’s Policy Board and Operations Board.
  • Consider approval of the First Amendment to the City Manager Employment Agreement and authorization of a One-Time Bonus.
  • Authorize a member of the City Council and the City Manager to present in-person public comment on behalf of the Council at the November 6, 2025 meeting of the California Coastal Commission (CCC), regarding the rezoning of three sites in the unincorporated Carpinteria Valley to multifamily residential use; and provide direction to City staff on a proposed comment letter to the CCC regarding the County rezone sites.
