Calling all CERT program grads interested in brushing up on their emergency preparedness skills!
On Thursday, Nov. 7, Dave Baker of the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District will lead a CERT Refresher course from 6 to 8 p.m. at the fire station located at 911 Walnut Ave. RSVP for the course at http://bit.ly/3N4Qs4C
CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team and is a program that educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live. CERT trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
Additional CERT courses, including basic training, will be offered soon. Please watch for more information if you are interested in becoming a trained CERT volunteer.
