
Lt. Rich Brittingham has been appointed as the new Chief of Police Services for the City of Carpinteria, effective immediately. A 21-year veteran of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Brittingham brings extensive law enforcement experience to the role.
Brittingham is known for his strong leadership, community engagement and problem-solving skills. City Manager Michael Ramirez expressed confidence in Lt. Brittingham’s ability to meet the community’s expectations for effective policing.
Lt. Brittingham succeeds longtime Chief of Police Lt. Ugo “Butch” Arnoldi, who will be continuing his career as supervisor of the North County Operations Division, Northern Division. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lt. Arnoldi for his years of dedicated service.
