ARB to consider several proposals

The Architectural Review Board will hold its next regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave., or view the meeting live at https://carpinteriaca.gov/, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar.

The following topics are highlights of the agenda. Additional details and numerous ways for the public to provide comments can be found at https://cityofcarp.co/ARBOct16.

  • Final review of a proposal to construct a new multi-use trail that would be located adjacent to Franklin Creek and extend from Carpinteria Avenue to Seventh Street. The proposal includes landscaping, seating benches, night lighting, and trash receptacles are proposed along the trail.
  • Preliminary review of a proposal for interior and exterior renovations to an existing 10,485 square-foot seven-unit two-story apartment building at 4956 Fifth Street. The interior renovations would include the creation of two new units and upgrades to the remaining units. The exterior renovations would include a new roof, new windows and doors, new plaster and paint, new stairway and balcony railings, new landscaping, and new hardscape.
  • Preliminary review of a proposal for exterior improvements to 169-unit Shepard Place Apartments located at 1069 Casitas Pass Road. The improvements would involve removal of existing trees, new landscaping, new amenities (BBQ area, dog park, gathering spaces), restriped parking lot, installation of driveway gates, repainting of the buildings, new lighting, and other improvements on the grounds.
  • Preliminary review of a proposal to install three new wireless telecommunications antenna array installations and one support equipment enclosure that would be located on the roof tops of the existing single-story commercial building located between Linden Avenue and Cactus Lane.
