Shelter in Place Order Issued

On the morning of Jan. 9, the National Weather Service issued a Shelter in Place Order for Santa Barbara County due to heavy rains and risk of flash flooding. When the order is lifted, County officials are planning to issue a MANDATORY EVACUATION of specific properties/areas affected by the burn scars of the Thomas, Alisal and Cave Fires. Some of these properties are in Carpinteria Valley. Please visit the interactive map at readysbc.org to determine if you should evacuate when the shelter in place order is lifted.

The SB County Office of Emergency Management Call Center is now activated. For information or/and for mental health support, call (833) 688-5551 or dial 211 for more information. For small animal evacuation support, call (805) 681-4332, and for large animals, call (805) 892-4484.
