Construction Begins on Carp Ave/Palm Intersection

Construction began today, Oct. 9, on the Carpinteria Avenue and Palm Avenue Intersection Improvements Project. The project will add a traffic signal to the busy intersection, which sees heavy vehicular traffic as well as heavy pedestrian traffic by students getting to and from Carpinteria Middle School. No road closures or detours are planned or expected for the project. There will be temporary traffic control which will involve lane closure but with concurrent lane shifting. For example, the westbound Carpinteria Avenue lane would be shifted to the center of the roadway. Please slow down and drive with caution while roadwork is underway.
