February is Black History Month

The City Council has officially proclaimed February 2026 as Black History Month!

This year’s theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” marks 100 years since Carter G. Woodson first institutionalized the study of Black history. We celebrate the invaluable contributions of African Americans that have shaped our identity, fostered pride, and advanced equality.
