In September of 1965, a majority of Carpinterians voted in favor of turning their unincorporated town into a city. In September of 2025, we’ll be celebrating 60 years of Cityhood, and we hope you will join us. We have a variety of events lined up in honor of this special anniversary, a little something for everyone!
Starting on Sept. 22, there will be a full week of free activities all designed to honor our history and look forward to our future. A beach clean-up, a library celebration of Carpinteria and Hispanic Heritage Month, an AgeWell event to celebrate 60 years of being a child at heart, and others will culminate in a State of the City Address on Sept. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Veteran’s Hall, 941 Walnut Ave. We’ll be rolling out lots of details in coming weeks, and you can find them at carpinteriaca.gov/60years.
