Road work to verify the location of underground utilities will take place this week on Linden Avenue between Carpinteria and Sawyer avenues. This process, known as potholing, will be the first step in the Linden Ave Improvements Project, and will require excavation and traffic control devices in the area.
The improvement project will enhance appearance, safety, and functionality for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers along Linden Avenue. The comprehensive project scope includes a variety of upgrades:
- Pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle facility enhancements: This covers new sidewalks, landscaping, and a Class IV separated bikeway, designed to provide a dedicated path for cyclists.
- Pavement resurfacing: The road surface itself will be redone to provide a smoother and more durable experience for vehicles.
- Storm drain facility upgrades: Improvements to the storm drain system will help manage water flow and reduce potential flooding.
