Skate Camp registration opens April 1

Who’s ready to hone their skating skills this summer at the Carpinteria Skate Park? Carpinteria Skate Foundation and the City of Carpinteria have teamed up to host seven one-week sessions of skate camp between June 10 and Aug. 2. Participating 7 to 12-year-olds will learn the basics of skateboarding and build on an existing skill set through instruction from experienced skate coaches. Camp runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Campers will need to pack a lunch, water bottle, and the appropriate safety equipment, including helmet, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards. Snacks will be provided and there is a water bottle fill up station on site at the park. The cost for each week is $300, and those who purchase six weeks will receive the seventh week free. Registration opens on April 1 at 9 a.m. and must be completed at http://www.carpskatepark.org by May 31. Please email questions to peterb@carpskatepark.org.
