You’ve lost your pet. What should you do?
The more of the following you do the greater the chance you have of being reunited with your pet and being reunited quickly:

• Walk your neighborhood and ask neighbors
• Post a lost ad on Craigslist
• Post on Nextdoor
• Post on any appropriate local lost and found pet Facebook pages:

• Keep an eye on our site daily for any new animals that may have been brought in recently.

• Is your animal microchipped? Call the microchip company and confirm your contact information is up to date.
• Make sure the number on your animal’s tag is working! Is there room on your voicemail?

Found Pets

• Does the pet have a license or ID?  Call/text the owner.
• Walk the pet around your neighborhood.
• Post a found ad on Craigslist
• Post on Nextdoor
• Post on any appropriate local lost and found pet Facebook pages:
  • Lost, Found, and Adoptable Pets of Carpinteria
  • Lost and Found Pets Santa Barbara County
  • Lost and Found Pets 805
  • SB Lost and Found Pet Resource and Network Group
• Take the pet to a veterinarian to scan for a microchip.
• If you are unable to reunite the pet with it’s owner,  notify the City within 24 hours of finding it at (805) 684-5405.
