City Council to meet Sept. 8

The Carpinteria City Council will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave., or view the meeting live at https://carpinteriaca.gov/, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar.

The following topics are highlights of the agenda. Additional details and numerous ways for the public to provide comments can be found at cityofcarp.co/CCSept8. Comments posted on social media will not be provided to council members.

  • A proclamation declaring Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2025 as Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Carpinteria.
  • A proclamation proclaiming September 2025 as Suicide Prevention Month in the City of Carpinteria.
  • A proclamation designating the week of September 8 – 14, 2025 as Celebrate Community Week in the City of Carpinteria.
  • Library Board of Trustees Meeting, which includes a presentation of the Library Strategic and Operating Plan.
  • Third Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments for Carpinteria Circulation Improvements Funds.
  • Approval of the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Community Services Support Grant Program Funding Recommendations.
  • Approval of a Special Event Permit Application for the 2025 California Avocado  Festival, Oct. 3 – 5, 2025.
  • Response to the 2025 Santa Barbara County Civil Grand Jury Report, “Santa Barbara South Coast Housing Crisis: A Call to Action.”
