City Council to meet July 14

The Carpinteria City Council will hold its next regular meeting on Monday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave., or view the meeting live at https://carpinteriaca.gov/, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar.

  • A proclamation designating July 2025 as Park and Recreation Month in the City of Carpinteria.
  • Certificates of commendation awarded to Carpinteria Emergency Response Team (CERT) trainees and trainers.
  • Introduction of new employee: Lexi Persoon, Aquatics Program Coordinator.
  • Annual member agency update presentation from Central Coast Community Energy.
  • Review of 2024 Carpinteria home sales prices and setting of the 2025 in-lieu affordable housing fee pursuant to the Inclusionary Housing Requirement.
  • Authorization for the City Manager to execute an agreement with Integral Consulting, Inc. to provide consulting design services for the Carpinteria Living Shoreline Project.
  • A maintenance agreement with Precision Concrete Cutting for sidewalk repairs through the Cooperative Purchasing Contract by the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority.
  • Award of construction contract to Toro Enterprises, Inc. for the Carpinteria High School Area Crosswalk Safety Improvements Project.
  • A construction contract for the Linden Avenue Improvements Project to Toro Enterprises, Inc.
  • Appointment of CalPERS Retired Annuitant David Durflinger as an Extra Help – Public Works Director, for July 28 through Oct. 31, 2025.
  • Consideration of rezoning specific properties from Industrial/Research Park to Residential/Mixed Use and (2) Directing staff to initiate negotiations with the property owners of those properties concerning possible terms for a Development Agreement related to the rezoning and future redevelopment of the properties.
  • Approving the application for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant for the Carpinteria Community Pool Project.
  • Professional Services Agreement with Clifford Moss to support community outreach and education related to the City’s fiscal sustainability efforts.
