City Council to Hold Special Surfliner Inn Meeting

The Carpinteria City Council will hold a special meeting to consider revised project plans for the Surfliner Inn Project on Monday, Nov. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave. If the council accepts the revised plans for the proposed inn on Linden Avenue between Fifth Street and the railroad tracks, the developer may file a project application to be considered at public meetings through the City’s regular planning process.

Revised plans for the hotel include a total of 39 rooms, a cafe and a rooftop terrace. The developer has altered numerous aspects of the design based on input received from the Council, Planning Commission and Architectural Review Board in a concept review held last November. Changes include a reduction to the footprint of the building, a larger setback between the building and Linden Avenue and a reduction to the height and mass of the building.

Detailed plans and numerous ways for the public to view the meeting and make comments can be found at https://bit.ly/3l8ljjd. Comments posted on social media will not be provided to council members.
