The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for several activities including oversight of the City’s Recreation Programs, Parks, Community Pool, and Veteran’s Memorial Building.
Community Garden Park
Grow organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers in the heart of downtown Carpinteria. The Garden Park has 100 raised beds available to interested community members. Community Tennis Courts
Carpinteria Community Tennis Courts Usage Guidelines
Court Availability: The Community Tennis Courts are open to the public during hours when school is not in session.
Court Allocation
- West Court: This court is designated for pickleball and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- East Court: The East Court is exclusively for tennis. The courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Equipment: Players are responsible for bringing their own equipment. Nets are provided.
Coaching Policy: Coaching on the courts is not permitted unless written permission has been obtained from the City of Carpinteria.
Prohibited Items: The use of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited on the premises.

Dogs on Beaches
CMC 6.04.240 – Dogs prohibited
It is unlawful for any person to suffer or permit any dog owned, harbored, or controlled by him to be on the public beach between Linden Avenue and Ash Avenue whether leashed or unleashed.
Monte Vista Off-Leash Dog Park
