City Council to meet May 28

The Carpinteria City Council will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. Members of the public may attend the meeting at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave., or view the meeting live at https://carpinteriaca.gov/, on Government Access Television Channel 21 or by logging into the Zoom webinar.

🗳️ Resolutions calling the November 5, 2024 General Municipal Election and requesting the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors to consolidate said election with the Presidential General Election to be held the same day, and adopting regulations for Candidate Statements.

🛏️ Potential November 2024 Transient Occupancy Tax Measure.

🎶 Introduction of an amendment to Carpinteria Municipal Code Chapter 5.40 to permit outdoor live entertainment. This would amend the definition of “place of entertainment” to include outdoor portions of premises open to the public.

🏠 Status Report on the City’s 2023-2031 Housing Element certification and approach to rezoning candidate sites under Program 1 (Adequate Sites to Accommodate Regional Housing Needs).

🖋️ Resolutions concerning the continuation of the following districts for Fiscal Year 2024-25: Street Lighting District No. 1; Lighting, Landscaping and Right-of-Way Improvement District No. 3; Parking and Business Improvement Area Assessment District No. 4 and Assessment District No. 5.
