City Recognizes Community Action Month and CommUnify’s 57th Anniversary

May is designated Community Action Month in Carpinteria, coinciding with the 57th anniversary of local non-profit CommUnify.

Part of the national Community Action Network, CommUnify has empowered families towards economic stability since 1967. They offer vital services to Santa Barbara County’s most vulnerable residents, including prenatal care, childcare, educational programs, job training, and assistance for seniors.

Through their comprehensive services, CommUnify has improved countless lives and continues the fight against poverty in Carpinteria and beyond. The City Council extends its thanks to CommUnify’s staff, volunteers, and board for their dedication to the community.
