Former Venoco Oil Pipeline #0470 Abandonment Project

Project Description:

As required by the State Fire Marshall, the City of Carpinteria (City) is administering the Former Venoco Oil Pipeline #0470 Abandonment Project. The general scope of work consists of a final phase abandonment for a former oil pipeline in place (i.e. no trenching) by abating and treating existing non-potable water contents from the pipeline and replacing with inert nitrogen gas. The project is fully funded by state-aid funds and will fulfill the State Fire Marshall’s requirements for the final phase abandonment of this former oil pipeline segment.

Project Timeline:

 

Abandonment work is estimated to start in fall 2024, and the estimated completion is in winter.
