The Food Bank of Santa Barbara County is kicking off another summer of free lunches with celebrations at distribution sites. DJ Hecktik will provide music and fun for kids and their loved ones at Aliso School on Thursday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to noon.
Local Picnic in the Park sites began distributing lunches last week. This summer, meals are available through Aug. 12 at Aliso Elementary School from 11 a.m. to noon, and through July 8 at Carpinteria High School from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The Picnic in the Park program aims to provide local children with a healthy meal every weekday this summer while school is out. No paperwork is required, and lunches are provided regardless of immigration status. All kids to age 18 are invited to partake.
