Rotary Club of Carpinteria celebrates 50th anniversary

The City of Carpinteria congratulates the Rotary Club of Carpinteria on its 50th anniversary and commends the organization for being a superlative community partner for its ongoing commitment to improving lives in Carpinteria and the world. The local club was admitted into Rotary International on July 10, 1973 and received its Charter on September 15, 1973. Standing behind its motto of Service Above Self, Rotary Club of Carpinteria has supported and founded various projects and causes such as an annual Talent Showcase, local school music programs, coastal erosion surveys, ShelterBox disaster relief, Rise Against Hunger food packaging, polio eradication, Carpinteria and Franklin Creeks cleanups, and many more. Club members were honored with a proclamation unanimously approved and presented by the Carpinteria City Council on July 24.
