The City of Carpinteria is preparing to hire several seasonal beach and pool lifeguards—a great part-time job for strong swimmers who like to work outside. Qualified applicants must be at least 15 years old to be a pool lifeguard and 16 years old to be a beach lifeguard. Applicants must also pass a swim test. The final swim test date for pool lifeguards is April 27. Beach lifeguards may sign up to try out on April 27, May 4 or May 18. Applicants who pass the swim test and an interview will be invited back for lifeguard training.
