Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate

The City of Carpinteria proclaimed Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month and encourages all members of the community to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of Hispanics in our community and the importance of social justice and fair representation for the Hispanic community. Hispanics, who make up 46% of the City’s population, increasingly impact the political, economic and social growth of our community and state. Generations of proud, hardworking, enterprising Latin Americans have contributed to and have strengthened our community.
